History of the Dagnon Ranch
The Dagnon ranch was established in 1965. Dal worked building trails in the Pasayten wilderness area for several years. He had several pack strings consisting of draft horses, mules and horses.
Dal has worked diligently as a member and past president of the Okanogan County Cattlemans Association, and is actively involved working on key issues challenging the cattle industry, both on a state and national level.
Today Dal and Joanne have a herd of commercial cattle, put up most of their own hay, and raise working quarter horses.
The Dagnon’s have three grown children, Joe who works on the ranch, Jana is married to Gary Lesamiz, and Larry teaches school.
Dal and Jana have always enjoyed the horses and have worked to build a band of brood mares and saddle horses that can be used on the ranch.

Our quarter horses are bred to do a full days work, the terrain is mountainous and rough, making them sure footed and stable mounts. The foals are born and raised out in large pastures of several hundred acres with lots of room to run and grow. They learn from the start to pay attention to ground under their feet and to what's going on in their environment.
If you are looking for a working cow horse, cutting/reining horse, trail horse or pleasure horse, you will find that our quarter horses have a good disposition, are excellent athletes, are willing learners and eager to please.
